this week —————————

my heart has been so heavy, so dirty, so ugly.

after such a great Easter, after a great reminder of the love and grace that God has shown me, after celebrating that Jesus Christ rose from the dead, overcoming death and sin,

how could my heart be so ugly. so easily tempted to fall into bitterness, annoyance, and selfishness.

¹⁰ Create in me a pure heart, O God, 
   and renew a steadfast spirit within me. 
¹¹ Do not cast me from your presence 
   or take your Holy Spirit from me. 
¹² Restore to me the joy of your salvation 
   and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
